- Portlaoise Train Station is the closest station to the festival. There will be a shuttle bus service from the Portlaoise, and Portarlington Train Stations to Electric Picnic, information about this service is available below in our ‘By Shuttle Bus’ section

Martleys of Portlaoise (Shuttlebus)
Martley’s will be running a shuttle bus from Portlaoise train station to Stradbally. The cost will be €7 each way.

DROP OFF / PICK UP POINT
The pick up and drop off points for the festival is located in Green Car Park, and is accessed by pedestrians through Paintball Gate.
PRIVATE HIRE COACHES
- All Coaches and Buses should drop off in the designated Coach Area, located in Green Car Park Z off the N80. Please follow the appropriate signage.
- It is very important to us that all coaches notify and register with us in advance if providing transport to Electric Picnic, see details below.
- If you are arriving in a private hire coach or minibus, please email enquiries@festivalrepublic.com with the following information:

– Drop off time
– Number of passengers
- Public Bus Passenger Services will also need to obtain an event or venue route licence in advance from the National Transport Authority.
From Dublin/North – M7 motorway southbound
Buses will exit the M7 motorway at Junction 16 and travel via the Heath to Stradbally where they will be directed to the Pick-up Drop-off area on the N80.
From Limerick – M7 motorway northbound
Buses should exit the M7 at Junction 16 and travel via the Heath to Stradbally where they will be directed to the Pick-up Drop off area on the N80.
From Cork – M8 motorway northbound
Buses will continue on the M8 and merge with the M7. They will exit at Junction 16 and travel via the Heath to Stradbally where they will be directed to the Pick-up Drop off area on the N80.
N80 from the West
Buses on this route will turn right at Fr. Brown Roundabout and continue on the N77/Abbeyleix Road and enter the M7 motorway northbound at Junction 17. Buses will then exit the M7 motorway at Junction 16 and travel via the Heath to Stradbally where they will be directed to the Pick-up Drop-off area on the N80.
N80 from South East/Carlow /Athy / Vicarstown / Heath
Buses will continue on the N80 through Stradbally, pass the Cork Road Junction and will be directed left into the Pick-up Drop-off area on the N80.
PARKING AT ELECTRIC PICNIC
- Parking is free.
- All car parks will be open for early entry ticket holders from 16:00 on Thursday the 31st, and then for general ticket holders from 9:00 on Friday 1st September until 16:00 Monday 4th September 2023. The car park is staffed 24 hours a day during this period.
- Please follow the event signage and directions from the Gardaí when arriving to the festival, not the sat nav! There are different routes into the festival depending on the direction you are coming from and whether you are being dropped off, a weekend ticket holder, a family ticket holder, bringing campervan/caravans or a day ticket holder.
- All attendees travelling to the event by car are required to park within the car parks they are directed to by the Gardai and event staff.
- Parking is free at the festival. These car parks allow access to all general camping areas. No sleeping, camping or fires are allowed in the car parks.
- Please note that tow-away vehicles are in operation throughout the event and will remove any illegally parked cars. There will also be a local recovery service based onsite on Monday morning.
BY CAR
An Garda Síochána have released an interactive traffic map for Electric Picnic 23. Please follow the directions in the map or below, and not the SAT NAV.
From Dublin/North – M7 motorway southbound
- All motorists except buses will exit M7 motorway at Junction 16 (Ballydavis interchange).
- Take the R445 towards Portlaoise and take a left turn onto the R425.
- All motorists (except buses) continue straight at Bloomfield roundabout on the R425 to Sheffield, Lamberton Junction and Money Cross.
- At Money Cross turn left and follow directions to carparks.
From Limerick – M7 motorway northbound
- All motorists except buses will exit the M7 motorway at Junction 17.
- Head west towards Portlaoise on the N77.
- Turn right after 500m onto the Meelick Road, continue straight.
- Turn right onto the R426 and continue take a right onto the R425 at Sheffield.
- Continue on the R425 to Money Cross.
- At Money Cross turn left and follow directions to carparks.
From Cork – M8 motorway northbound
- All motorists except for buses will exit the M8 motorway at Junction 3 (Manor Stone) and turn right onto the R433 to Abbeyleix.
- In Abbeyleix, turn left onto the N77, continue through Abbeyleix and turn right onto the R425/Ballyroan Road.
- Continue to follow the R425 towards Cashel Cross.
- From Cashel Cross traffic will follow the main road to the right onto the R427.
- Continue on the R427 to Money Cross.
- At Money Cross motorists will be directed straight on the R427 and from here will follow
directions to carparks.
N80 from the West
- All motorists including buses from the West will travel on the N80 through Mountmellick
towards Portlaoise. - At Fairgreen roundabout /N80 (53.051170, -7.321236) turn right onto the Portlaoise Ring Road.
- Continue for 3 KM to the Mountrath Road/R445 and take a right.
- At the next roundabout at Rockdale take a left onto the Fr Brown Avenue/Old Knockmay Road.
- At Fr Brown roundabout continue straight to the Portlaoise South Circular Ringroad.
- At the O ‘Doran roundabout take the third exit onto the R426 to Sheffield.
- At Sheffield turn right onto the R425 and continue to Money Cross.
- At Money Cross turn left and follow directions to carparks.
N80 from South East/Carlow /Athy / Vicarstown / Heath
- All event traffic will travel west on the N80 into Stradbally.
- All event traffic (except buses) will turn left at Court Square onto the Timahoe Road.
- Cars will be directed into the car park.
BY CAR – SUNDAY TICKET HOLDERS
M7 Southbound (Dublin & North) / M7 Northbound (Limerick & South West) / M8 North (Cork & South)
Take Junction 16 off the M7 towards Bloomfield Cross on the R445 in the direction of Portlaoise. Turn left onto the R425, heading towards the N80, Stradbally. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the N80 Stradbally. Before you enter the town turn right into the designated car parks.
N80 – Carlow & South East
Travel along the N80 and N78 to Simmons Mills and proceed via the Windy Gap into Stradbally. Turn left at Court Square (opposite Dunne’s pub) onto the Timahoe Road and turn left into the designated car park.
BY CAR – FAMILY WEEKEND
PLEASE NOTE, YOU MUST HAVE FAMILY WEEKEND TICKETS IN ORDER TO PARK IN THE FAMILY CAR PARK. YOU WILL NEED A FAMILY WRISTBAND TO RE-ENTER THIS CAR PARK
- M7 Northbound & Southbound
Take Junction 16 off the M7 towards Bloomfield Cross on the R445 in the direction of Portlaoise. Turn left onto the R425, heading towards the N80, Stradbally. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the N80 Stradbally. Continue along the N80, the family car park is in the centre of the town on the left hand side, and will be sign posted. - N80 – Carlow & South East
Take the N80 and N78 to Simmons Mills and proceed on the N80 via the Windy Gap into Stradbally. Continue along the N80, the family car park is in the centre of the town on the right-hand side and will be sign posted. - Family Weekend Ticket holders can park their cars in the designated Family Car Park located in Stradbally Town.
GENERAL CAMPERVAN & CARAVAN
ONLY CAMPERVANS/CARAVANS THAT ARE PROPERLY ACCREDITED WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE ZONE.
From Dublin/North – M7 motorway southbound
Campervans will travel straight on the (R426) at Money Cross and turn left in Timahoe village towards Stradbally. Turn left again to enter through Apiary Gate.
From Limerick – M7 motorway northbound
Campervans will travel straight on the (R426) at Money Cross and turn left in Timahoe village towards Stradbally. Turn left again to enter through Apiary Gate.
From Cork – M8 motorway northbound
Campervans will turn right at Money Cross onto the R426 and turn left in Timahoe village towards Stradbally. Turn left again to enter through Apiary Gate.
N80 from the West
Campervans will travel straight on the (R426) at Money Cross and turn left in Timahoe village towards Stradbally. Turn left again to enter through the Apiary Gate.
N80 from South East/Carlow /Athy / Vicarstown / Heath
Campervans will turn right to enter through the Apiary Gate.
FAMILY CAMPERVAN / CARAVAN
M7 Southbound (Dublin & North), M7 Northbound (Limerick & South West) and N80 (West).
Take Junction 16 off the M7 towards Bloomfield Cross on the R445 in the direction of Portlaoise. Turn left onto the R425, heading towards the N80, Stradbally. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the N80 Stradbally. Continue through the town to court square (opposite Dunne’s Pub) and turn right onto the Timahoe Road. Continue down this road and take a right into Gate 4a sign posted Family Campervan. Please note, there is strictly no pedestrian access through this gate.
