Once a cult favourite roaming through Electric Picnic after dark, GlowDepot has evolved from glowing DIY folklore into a fully realised forest destination. What began as a chaotic upcycled shopping trolley crowned with a glowing LED umbrella now returns as its own dedicated world: a late-night city in the woods built for discovery, movement and after-hours energy.
Rooted in urban, underground and neo-soul sounds, GlowDepot brings a distinctive new pulse to the forest. By day, expect a fresh wave of emerging and established talent, with music that leans into left-field rhythms, club influences and the creative edge of Ireland’s underground scene. After dark, the area shifts gears into a high-energy celebration of Irish club culture, transforming into one of the festival’s most atmospheric late-night party spots.
The main stage, designed by Forja Works, takes inspiration from a retro petrol station canopy and is created using upcycled plastics collected from music festivals across Ireland. On either side, a sprawling urban cityscape by art-rave collective Stone Eire brings the setting to life with flashes of ’90s graffiti grit, crumbling concrete textures and nostalgic fragments of urban decay.
GlowDepot also features Courtside, a basketball-themed side stage powered by festival favourites Super Average DJs. Complete with its own caravan set-up, Courtside adds another layer of playful, offbeat energy to the area, hosting DJs, performers and unexpected pop-up moments throughout the weekend.
Across the space, theatrical interventions and roaming performances bring GlowDepot’s world to life, adding humour, surprise and late-night spectacle between the music. Curated by Alan Mulhall and John Kenny, with music and production support from Fluttertone, GlowDepot is a bold new home for the sounds, scenes and creative chaos that keep Electric Picnic glowing long after dark.
