ArtLot is home to Granny’s House, an immersive installation decorated head to toe in retro kitsch that transports visitors back to their nanny’s gaff circa 1985. Visitors can create their own masterpieces at the Groove & Palette painting studio, hang out with the Beat poets at Amy’s Wine House, or visit Snug PhotoBooth, the immersive installation that will print your not-so-safe-for-work festival portraits.
A champion of emerging talent, ArtLot’s intimate forest stage has become known as the place to catch some of Ireland’s top rising acts before they hit main arena stardom.
This year’s lineup includes the celebrated genre-bending Dublin-based six-piece band Child of Prague, Northern Ireland’s psychedelic indie-pop pusher Lemonade Shoelace, indie post-punk rockers Croíthe, and the seven-piece indie collective And He, The Fool. In addition, the stage will feature performances across the weekend from Mac Steady, The Voodoo Kitchen, Smithereens, The Gladstone Band, Ember, The WU, Mykology, Some One’s Son, Kapayja, The Blow In’s, and battle of the band winners The Wires.
As dusk descends on Stradbally each evening, ArtLot will present a stacked lineup of electronic acts. Highlights include Modeā, whose breakout track Ready To Fly was premiered during Tiësto’s iconic Giza Pyramids set last year. DJ Sharpson, known for his infamous high-energy Granny’s Gaff raves, will be celebrating his 10th ArtLot with a UV paint party, and alternative club-kids RATHAUS will close the stage on Sunday night. In addition, the stage will feature DJ sets across the weekend from Jamie Ennis, People_Like_Us, Claudia O, AdzyOB, BarryB, A/K, Budly, DJ Beks, Lucas Ogma, Floody, and Jordo Byrne. Possibly Electric Picnic’s youngest-ever performer? Twelve-year-old DJ Seanem will make his festival debut on this year’s ArtLot stage.
ArtLot’s late-night side stage, Seomra Boil, returns for its second year. The shipping container venue, powered by Disco Box collective, will present a nightly programme celebrating Irish club culture. This year’s lineup includes Michelle McCormack, Eskay, Bláthnaid O’Toole, Jessica Maciel, Tuáthla Lucy, Leon Carter, Jack Madden, Luke Grogan, Dirty Disco, Aaron L, and Paulo.
Elsewhere on this year’s programme, patrons of the ArtLot can enjoy performances from a collection of Dublin’s finest poets including The Vagabond Queen, Phil Kenny, FloRa, and Adam Kelly. There will be pop-up dance performances from Bevel & Embody and Kay, incredible art installations by Patrick Blue, and murals by artist Kevin Bohan.
ArtLot is curated by John Kenny and Alan Mulhall of the Dublin-based art collective The GlowDepot, with production support from Fluttertone. It is proudly supported by the Electric Picnic festival.
