Electric Picnic festival will be held in Stradbally Hall Estate on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th, Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st of August.

The early event build is due to officially begin on Monday 27th of July. Traffic will be entering the event site via the Stradbally Estate Main gate (Gate 6)  on Main Street and exiting via a gate (Gate 4) on the Timahoe Road.The staff campsite and car park opens on the Vicarstown Road from Sunday 23rd of August.

Staff access the Car Park via Garrons Cross. Staff as advised that there is no vehicle access to the car park via Stradbally Main Street.

Please expect an increase to traffic in the Stradbally Area from these dates. It is our intention to minimise any possible disruption and inconvenience to local residents, and we would like to thank you for your continued assistance and support over the last number of years.

Early entry tickets are limited to a maximum of 40,000 only and early entry customers will be directed to park in the Red, Blue and Yellow car parks. There will be some low-key entertainment on Thursday in the woodland and Freetown entertainment areas. The main entertainment programme will begin on Friday 28th August as per previous years.

The Electric Picnic Residents Committee are the liaison between the festival organisers, Festival Republic, and the residents. They represent all those in the locality effected by Electric Picnic. They organise frequent public meetings in advance of the Event to deliver information to the residents. All are welcome to attend. Check the committees Facebook page or join their mailing list to be informed on when these meetings occur. Notices of meetings and committee activates are posted in clubs, churches, community halls and businesses throughout the surrounding areas.

The Electric Picnic Resident’s Committee do not have any tickets for sale, so please do not contact them on such matters.

Resident tickets are allocated by the Electric Picnic Residents Committee and based on strict perimeters.

Residents who qualify need to register with the committee to claim their ticket.

Registration takes place on sign up nights in advance of the show. If you are a qualifying resident and haven’t received information regarding the sign-up nights or want to query if your household meets the qualifying conditions, please email the Residents Committee: electricpicniccommittee@gmail.com.

·        Recipients of tickets must either use the tickets themselves or pass them to a member of their household or immediate family only.

·       As these tickets are solely for the benefit of local residents, they must not be sold onwards.

• Resident tickets are not permitted to be used for competitions or activity in any media, including social media.
• Wristbands must not be swapped or tampered with; tampered wristbands will not be permitted entry to the festival.
• Applying for tickets implies an acceptance of these terms and conditions and anyone found to be in breach of these rules will not be permitted to apply for Residents tickets in future years.

• You must be aged 18 years or over to attend the festival, with the exception of children aged 12 and under.
• Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult at all times, limited to a maximum of two children per adult.
• Children aged 12 and under do not require a ticket but must be registered prior to attending the festival. This can be done on our website here: EP26 Child Registration Form
• If you are bringing your child and you feel they look older than 12, please bring ID to back this up (colour photocopies will suffice).
• Children’s wristbands can be found at Little Picnic and the entry gates.

By Car

Residents wishing to drive to the Event must park in the official public car parks, Red Car Park, Yellow Car Park and Blue Car Park and enter through their respective Gate, Abbeyleix, Quarry or Molly’s Gate.

By Foot

Residents walking to the Event can enter through the PUDO Gate on the Cork Road or Hunter’s Lane off Stradbally Main Street

The Stradbally Estate Main Gate entrance is a working entry/exit point and is not available for use by residents. This is a health and safety issue, and no exceptions will be made.

Please note that pedestrians are not permitted on the Timahoe Road. There is an internal route from the Main Arena to Hunter’s Gate for pedestrian access to Stradbally.

By Pick up or drop off

Residents getting dropped to the event by a friend or family member can do so via the PUDO area, located off the N80. They will then be able to enter the event site via PUDO gate. They will then need to return to PUDO if they are being picked up.

There will be a dedicated Residents Ticket Exchange and entry gate at Hunters Gate. This is for resident’s ticket holders only.

The Hunters Lane Residents ticket exchange will be open Friday/ Saturday/Sunday of the show.

Once you have your wristband, residents on foot can exit and re-enter the site through the re-entry gates below.

1. Railway Gate on the Cork Road – Access to the Late Night Arena via Cosby Arena Entrance.

2. Hunters Gate on the Stradbally Main Street – Access to the Main Arena via Gate D (Staff Gate).

Re-entry will not be permitted if you do not have a ticket accompanying your wristband.

Unaccompanied children aged 12 or under are not allowed in or out through the campsite gates or arena entrances without an adult at any time. Children aged 12 or under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

There are 6 types of resident vehicle passes.

Residents’ Vehicle Pass (General)

Permits access within the Stradbally environs. Any road closures and traffic restrictions still apply.

This pass does not permit access through road closures on Timahoe Rd and Abbeyleix Rd.

Cork Road Resident

Permits access to the Cork Road houses between Abel’s Corner and the turn to Raheenduff (Gate 7).

Abbeyleix Road Resident

Permits access to Abbeyleix Road between Money Cross and Abel’s Corner.

Please note that access from Abel’s Corner is restricted during peak timings, and residents may be required to follow the flow of event traffic. During peak event traffic periods, both lanes from Cahill’s Cross into the Red Car Parks are dedicated to inbound festival traffic. As a result, two-way traffic cannot be accommodated during these times to ensure the safe and efficient ingress of festival attendees.

This pass provides access to Abbeyleix Rd for residents from Abel’s Corner to Money Cross, Cahill’s Cross to Timogue Cross and the Abbeyleix Road to Duck’s Cross.

Timahoe Road Resident

Permits access to Timahoe Road between Court Square and Timogue Cross.

This pass provides access to Timahoe Rd for residents from Court Square to Timogue Cross, Charter Lane, Corig Rd and Long Lane.

Long Lane is intended to be used for the duration of the weekend to assist with exiting traffic from the Yellow Car Parks in the direction of Timahoe. Throughout the weekend, it may be used at the discretion of An Garda Siochana. Residents should be advised to follow the flow of event traffic during this time.

Residents’ Estates

Pass permits access to the named estates only: Oakglen, Woodview, The Orchard and Cill Beg.

This pass does not permit access through road closures on Timahoe Rd and Abbeyleix Rd.

Drs/ Nurse/ Carers

Pass issued to those working in care giving/ support services who need access to residences within the Stradbally Environs

•  Vehicle pass must be visible, hung from your rearview mirror and facing forward to minimise delays.
• This pass is only valid when a mobile number and vehicle registration have been entered into the white panel on the front of the hanger
• Vehicle passes that have not been completed as required will be considered invalid and may be confiscated by An Garda Síochána.
• Please follow any instructions or directions given by An Garda Siochana and Event Staff.

Resident Vehicle Pass allocation & Registration

Vehicle passes are allocated based on routes impacted by the traffic management plan. Each qualifying household is allocated 2 vehicle passes as standard. Please contact the Residents Committee if you wish to apply for a pass or have a query regarding the passes

Those who live on the Timahoe Road, Cork Road and Abbeyleix Road will be required to register for their passes and submit their vehicle details. These details are printed onto the front of the pass. Road closures will be in effect. Vehicles travelling on these roads must display a valid vehicle pass. Any vehicle without the appropriate pass will be redirected via the designated diversion routes. Details of how to register will be shared by the Committee.

ROAD AND JUNCTION CLOSURES

Detailed below are all road and junction closures that will be in place for Electric Picnic.

Diversion routes

The following diversion routes will be in place to faciltiate the road closures on the Timahoe Road and Cork/ Abbeyleix Road.

Traffic travelling from Ballyroan to Money Cross along the R427.

Turn left at Money Cross onto the R426. Continue on this road until you reach the roundabout with the N80 at Bloomfield crossroads. Turn right at the roundabout onto the N80. Continue travelling east along this road until you reach Stradbally.

Traffic travelling from Timahoe (R426) to Stradbally

Travel via Money Cross onto the R426. Continue on this road until you reach the roundabout with the N80 at Broomfield crossroads. Turn right at the roundabout onto the N80. Continue travelling east along this road until you reach Stradbally.

Traffic travelling from the South-East to Stradbally

At Simmons Mill crossroads, turn left onto the N78. Travel in a south westerly direction to Newtown Cross and turn right onto the R430 regional road to the Swan. Turn right on the north-western side of the Swan onto the R426 and continue until you reach Timahoe.

Local Access will be maintained and appropriate signage will be in place to divert traffic along the alternative routes.

A booklet will be created which will contain all resident specific information regarding Electric Picnic. This includes the Traffic Management Plan, details on diversion routes and road closures, and general event information.

This booklet will be given to residents when collecting their vehicle passes and dropped to various churches, clubs and businesses in the towns surrounding Stradbally. The information booklet is also available digitally via the residents committee.

Noise levels are regulated and monitored by our onsite Acoustic Consultants to ensure they are within limits set by Laois County Council.

These are the same timings as in previous years.

In addition, there may be sound checks and pryo tests. These will take place during a limited window in advance of the event opening on Friday. Sound checks will not take place past 10pm prior of the commencement of the event.

Electric Picnic employee a waste management contractor to manage litter picking and clean up for Stradbally Hall, Main Street and the surrounding fields for the duration of the show.

While we endeavour to ensure as minimal impact due to littering as possible, please allow several days post show for them to clean up due to the size of the operation.

Road sweeping will take place on roads heavily used by event traffic over the show weekend.

These roads include Stradbally Main Street, Timahoe Road, Charter Road, Long Lane/Vicarstown Road to Garrons Cross, and Abbeyleix Road/Cork Road.

There are a stewards and security positioned on and around the site to manage the security and safety of those attending. Electric Picnic also position security dedicated to managing the offsite and residential areas.

An Garda Síochána will also have a strong presence through Stradbally town and the surrounding area over the course of the show.

The resident’s hotline is operational from 12:00 – 00:00 on Friday 28h – Sunday 30th of August.

The types of issues that can be dealt with are event related noise queries, Security incidents, parking in inappropriate areas or issues with entering the festival etc.
