An East Cork native, BKultured founder Niamh Hegarty grew up on her family’s tillage farm. Niamh studied Commerce and Chinese in UCC followed by a Masters’ in Global Business and a course at Ballymaloe Cookery School, where her love of fermented foods and water kefir began. Martin is a Master of Wine with a career encompassing every facet of wine from grape to glass, whose passion for fermented grape juice led to working in wineries in France, Australia and England. Martin has been a columnist for Food and Wine, The Evening Herald and, since 2011, for The Sunday Times (Ireland) along with 13 years contributing to Newstalk’s Movies and Booze slot on The Moncrieff Show.
