Nightmares on Wax Soundsystem

Nightmares on Wax were founded by Dj E.A.S.E a.k.a George Evelyn and Kevin
"Boywonder" Harper, in 1980.

For Nightmares on Wax, Hip hop and soul was always a latent force. It was just that it was buried within a bleeping MIDI interface.

From 95's slo'mo, soulistic long player "Smoker’s Delight" to 99's jazz infused "Car Boot Soul" to 08's "Thought so" 'Wax take you on their own smoked out journey.

They're gonna bring their car with a boot full of soul! Elevating electronic breaks crossed with Hip hop/rap and funk. All the influences of a crate diggers dream when the digging stops and the rummaging starts in their own heads.

Nightmares musical influences are their dreams, always keen to experiment with ideas. Enter the live show. In their own words…

"Doing the live side proves there is more to the music. People have something more tangible to relate the music to and it gives us the chance to connect with the audience.
…The sound of the beats is what makes Nightmares."

Nightmares' current dream is E.A.S.E and his "Big band"- Keyboards Robin Taylor-Firth Vocals - Chyna Brown, Ella may, Mozez, Ricky Ranking, and on Guitar-Chris Dawkins

"it's clear that Evelyn and Taylor-Firth haven't lost their touch for finding grooves that transcend terms like lazy and instead achieve superlatives like effortless…moments of greatness" Thought so - All Music Guide
