Neko Case

Playing her first Irish show in over 5 years, Virginia-born Neko Case's long journey from cult alt-country underground hero to bona fide international superstar was confirmed in March 2009 when her 6th studio album 'Middle Cyclone' entered the US billboard charts at number 3. It's her ability to connect - on an uncommonly deep and meaningful level - with her audience that characterises her work and performances to date. Personal music told in a very personal way.

Flirting with as many musical styles as homes, "songs linger in your head, your heart and soul long after the record has stopped spinning." A magician's gift for misdirection, she keeps us off balance, questing and questioning.

Instinct is immutable. It's an idea she explores further on the anthemic "I'm An Animal." "I feel like one of the real tragedies is that, as a species, human beings are constantly trying to deny or sublimate our natural instincts,"
"And I've made a conscious effort not to do that, but to trust myself, both in my life and in my work."

"Her high, hard voice invests her most elliptical lines with warmth, longing and other emotions that any human animal can feel" - Rolling Stone

"On 'Fox Confessor Brings The Flood' Neko's voice and sheer poetry of her song-writing make hyped also-rans like Jenny Lewis look like hot-pant wearing desperados, proving to her rivals and beyond that style and substance aren't mutually exclusive." - Playlouder
