Mick Flannery

Winner of this year's Meteor Award for Best Irish Male, Cork folk singer/songwriter Mick Flannery brings his charismatic gravely vocals to Electric Picnic just as his second album "White Lies" goes platinum in Ireland.

Since the 25-year-old former Blarney stonemason first came on the scene just a few years ago, Flannery has been signed to EMI, released the chart topping album "White Lies", been nominated for a Choice Music Prize, and this year claimed a prestigious Meteor Award.

The singer has acquired a huge following since his debut release in 2005, thanks to his thoughtful lyrical song-writing and husky Waitsian vocals. He has recently been selling out shows around the country, including a sold out Vicar St show in May. He was voted Hotpress' most promising newcomer for 2009.
