Marina & The Diamonds

Marina & The Diamonds aka Greco-Welsh artist Marina Diamandis, is the hotly tipped off-kilter pop sensation that came to prominence with her fabulous debut single "Obsessions" late last year.

Endless comparisons have been drawn with the likes of Kate Bush and Tori Amos, due to Marina’s piano-based pop and dramatic sonic textures. Diamandis' creations however remain utterly unique. Her compositions veer between simple keyboards-based ballads and more upbeat and catchy, new wave-inflected numbers enhanced by bass, guitar and drums.

"The Crown Jewels" EP, released in July, is the second release from the singer since she was signed to Neon Gold and Sixsevenine, and features her brilliant new single "I Am Not A Robot", as well as "Seventeen”, and "Simplify".

Marina plays Electric Picnic with the accompaniment of bass, keys, drums, with herself on piano. Her debut full-length is scheduled for release in early 2010. Watch this space!
