Jape

Winner of the Choice Music Awards prize for the Irish Album of the Year in March, Jape aka Crumlin's Richie Egan makes one of consist and renowned live shows.

Originally part of rock instrumental group The Redneck Manifesto, Egan has released three incredible albums as Jape, and gained main stream popularity with such hits as "Floating" and "Phil Lynott". "Floating" has gained international notoriety since being covered in 2007 by Jack White's The Raconteurs and also included by UK DJ Adam Freeland as one of the selected tracks on his 'Back to Mine' compilation.
 
The best example yet of Egan's unique blend of electro pop, dance, and Beckett-inspired lyrical styles is his third album Ritual, which was released to rave reviews last year. Richie is currently working on material for a new Jape album between tour dates.
 
Famously energetic, and equally entertaining between tracks, Jape's live performance is not to be missed.
