The Duckworth–Lewis method

Cricket pop… fancy some pop tinged with cricket…or just some really jaunty original melodic madness…esoteric tom foolery or… pop gold.

The method' is the pairing of Thomas Walsh of Irish indie-popsters Pugwash, and Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy.

In the sport of cricket, the Duckworth–Lewis method (D/L method) is a mathematical way to predict what would have happened had an interrupted cricket game come to its natural conclusion, it generates some controversy.

Coming from the Divine Comedy man who is known for his quirky humour such a concept project is not totally unexpected.

On one side of the oval it's about cricket but more so this is a vehicle for the lads to let loose all their musical madness and fuse it around pop sensibilities to create a truly original sound.

Plodding pomp-pop based around piano and guitar, fused with nifty melodies and doused in warmness more genuine than the memories of non-existent Irish summers they invoke…
