Bell Orchestre
Bell Orchestre are the stunning instrumental six-piece from Montreal, who began life as a side project of full time Arcade Fire members Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld. Their first acclaimed and Juno-nominated full length release "Recording a Tape the Colour of the Light" came out in 2005 shortly after the ground breaking tour of sister band Arcade Fire’s Funeral album.
The sextet's elaborate multi-layered compositions are almost orchestral in their richness and complexity. Horns, strings, keys, percussion, and atmospheric lap steel fill highly complex and beautifully textured soundscapes, which nevertheless contain a pop accessibility beneath the surface.
The collective's sophomore full-length, "As Seen Through Windows" was released in March of this year, and continues where the debut left off, with stunning instrumental arrangements, sometimes ethereal and delicate, sometimes rousing, and sounding like nothing other than Bell Orchestre.
