Bat For LashesBat For Lashes is the work of sublime British singer/songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Natasha Khan. Exotic and enchanting, Khan's music is typified by its elemental and otherworldly mystical style, influenced - according to the artist herself - by the likes of Steve Reich and Susan Hiller. Khan appeared on the scene in a puff of fairy dust with the Mercury and Brit award-nominated 2006 debut "Fur And Gold", an outstanding forest/druid rock album, which lead to critical ravings, and accolades from the likes of Bjork, M.I.A, and Radiohead, who hand-picked Khan to accompany them on tour last year. Bat For Lashes' eagerly anticipated second album "Two Suns" was released this April and went straight to number 5 in the UK charts. Co-produced by David Kosten, (aka Faultline), the album builds on Khan’s fairy-tale debut, with the addition of booming percussion and '80s synths. The result is an even more intriguing work from a brilliant new artist. "Two Suns is home to some of the year's most thrilling music so far" Pitchfork April '09 "Two Suns is fantastic as well as fantastical" Guardian April ‘09 Web: www.myspace.com/batforlashes LINEUP SUBJECT TO CHANGE |
