Saturday September 5th.

  • MindField12pm -8pm BUBBLE WORKSHOPS
    Bubble Drawing Workshop with artist Maria Phelan and Weaire-Phelan Structure Model Construction with DJ sets from Dylan O' Neill aka iRate Soundsystem. Can you blow square bubbles? What makes the perfect bubble mixture? Can you tell when a bubble will burst?
  • 12pm – 8pm MINDBALL
    Brain fried from the weekend? See how mellow you really are by playing the Mindball Game where you can square off against your mates to control the ball by becoming more relaxed and more focused. The more relaxed you are, the better you will!
  • 2pm SOAPBUBBLE.DK
    Watch as this group of Danish bubble enthusiasts - made up of engineers, comedians and biotechnologists - experiment, dazzle and defy the laws of nature with their bubble antics.
  • 5pm SEED DATING: GREEN IDEAS
    Hosted by Aoibhínn Ní Shúilleabháin.
    Will your idea power the future? A unique networking event designed to spark of creative connections and allow people to share and develop ideas for innovative projects in arts, science, technology and media.

  • 12pm – 6pm SPACE AT THE PICNIC
    A chance for festival-goers to find out more about the starry sky above them over the festival days.
  • 12pm – 6pm SPACE EXPERIENCE: STARDOME
    Kick back in the best chill out zone at the picnic as Blackrock Castle Observatory joins up with Science Gallery to bring their inflatable planetarium- STARDOME- to Electric Picnic.
  • 12pm – 6pm SPACE ART: DEEP SPACE IMMERSION CHAMBER BY DAVID BICKLEY
  • 2pm & 4pm SPACE SPEAKER: LEO ENRIGHT presents Shake, Rattle and Roll, a series of interactive talks throughout the day which will recreate what it felt like to watch the rocket launch to the moon and the significance of this great adventure in scientific research and astronomy.
  • 12pm – 6pm SPACE WORKSHOPS: GALILEO TELESCOPE AND SUN SPOTTERS.
    Join Science Gallery and Blackrock Castle Observatory staff in astronomy themed workshops running all day. Start off by building your own replica of Galileo's telescope and try it out on the ELECTRIC PICNIC sky.
