Carbon Countdown with Stop Climate Chaos
Stop Climate Chaos, Ireland's largest coalition of development, environment, youth and faith based organisations, will be active in the Global Green, highlighting why we need action at Copenhagen. Coordinating the activities for the coalition will be Friends of the Earth
Message in a Bottle
During the climate summit in Copenhagen this December Friends of the Earth International are organising a mass "flood action". We will literally flood through the streets of Copenhagen with our demands for climate justice. But, if you can't come to Copenhagen, you can be one of the drops that makes up the flood, by sending your "message in a bottle" to be carried by the flood!
Messages from all over the world will be brought to Copenhagen, to confront decision makers with the voices of people affected by climate change, and people who demand climate justice! We're collecting messages from communities in the global South, and messages from people who feel that their government should do more to find fair solutions to the climate crisis, messages from people like you at the Global Green. The will be some familiar faces adding their messages at the Picnic this year, drop by and see what they have to say!
Flash Mob Conga 4 Climate
Building on the success of the Human Hourglass on Sandymount beach on the 13th June this year where 1000 people joined together to mark the countdown to COP15, Friends of the Earth and Stop Climate Chaos are planning to organise a Conga 4 Climate on Saturday afternoon in the Picnic. Starting from the Global Green area the group will be promoting a text based flash mob group to start the Conga through the picnic. Hold the line to COP15 and Conga 4 Climate while we attempt to break the world conga record of 1,426 people! To join text Flash to 087 3 200 900.
